It's Good To Be Loved

mood: loved
Well, Severus and I weathered our first argument. I must admit, I would have rather skipped the disagreement and gone straight to making up, but I guess things just don’t work that way. Either way, I think we’re much better for having gone through it. We got to discuss a few issues that will need to be worked through, and he said he loves me. He loves me. I’m still reeling from that confession. I never thought someone as marvelous as he would fall in love with me. It seems like every day has become an exercise in counting the moments until I can go back to the dungeon. I still enjoy my work of course, but I enjoy his companionship even more.

In other news, there will be a re-release of all of my books, just in time for Christmas shopping! Every book includes new artwork and photo galleries. A limited run of signed and numbered editions will be available. See you at the book signing tour (which will be stopping at a wizarding book store near you)!

A Taste of Heaven

mood: indescribable

I am falling in love.

I am falling in love, and the man of my dreams is lying beside me as I write, softly snoring. My... well-manicured ass is no longer on his couch, but in his bed- where I believe it will be residing for every night hereafter. Words fail me, I just can't seem to get them to explain this wonderful feeling. I hope to spend the rest of my life beside this exceptional, brilliant, handsome man.

I think he's falling in love with me. I pray to whatever sympathetic Gods that will listen that he is. At the very least, I know that he cares a great deal for me.

If the keeper of my heart reads this...

I love you.

Well, I’m finally at the office, and it’s terribly difficult to keep my mind on actual work. This morning was lovely beyond words, Severus and I talked for a while and he even admitted to enjoying last night and couldn’t seem to stop smiling. I’m looking forward to this evening, since we plan on picking up where we left off. I even gave him a hug and kiss goodbye, which he accepted graciously. On a more humorous note, his couch is beginning to have a permanent imprint of me. After I came back into the room (from preparing breakfast), I saw that my outline was still visible on the couch’s plush upholstery.

Note to Mrs. Knight: Send Headmaster Dumbledore a very expensive gift suited to his tastes (preferably something with a lot of sugar). Attach a ‘thank you’ card, expressing gratitude for having assigned Severus the task of making my daily potions.

Happiness And Fulfillment

mood: giddy

Severus is still fast asleep, so I thought I would take a moment to update my journal. Last night was wonderful beyond words; although I am sorry Mrs. Knight has to face my flood of owls alone. I need to get her a really nice gift for putting up with my absence the last couple of mornings. Annoyed secretary aside, last night really was amazing.
He looks peaceful this morning. It's odd to see him like this, he's usually so tense. There's something very comforting about knowing I helped get him so relaxed and happy. He even managed to smile a few times last night, although I fear his face isn't used to that particular expression. I'm sitting in his bedchamber, crossed legs on the stone floor, watching him sleep- and everything seems so perfect right now. I wish I could live this moment over and over.
And just so Mrs. Knight doesn't think me a cad, I have been a complete gentleman, and nothing inappropriate has happened between Severus and me.
Dash it all, the cramping in my legs tells me I should get up and go back to bed for a bit. I hope he's still here when I wake up...

Fashion Emergency!

Mrs. Knight, where are my 'peacock' robes? The ones with the royal purple outer robe, forest green inner robe, and gold sash? I'm trying to get ready for my appointment this evening, and I can't seem to find the blasted ensemble!

I spent the day answering mail and having meetings with Mrs. Knight. I’m terribly lucky to have her working for me, don’t know what I’d do without such a dedicated employee. My head has finally cleared of the potion-meets-cognac fog, and I’m feeling much better. I got a chance to talk with Percival Weasley, who has grown into quite the talented and respectable young man (if a bit high strung). It’s nice to be able to meet and socialize with so many wonderful people these days; the hospital doesn’t exactly lend itself to being an enjoyable atmosphere for discourse. What I’m really looking forward to is my appointment this evening, to pick up my potion. I think the conversation will go much better with my remaining sober. Now if I can just think of an appropriate gift to bring...

An evening to remember...
04:53pm 19/09/2002

mood: pensive

I had an amazing, enlightening, and somewhat embarrassing evening. For those of you who aren’t aware, I have to take a potion every night to keep away chronic migraines and nosebleeds, a side affect of the accidental spell misfire that led me to St. Mungo’s in the first place. Professor Severus Snape has been gracious enough to take time out of his busy schedule and make this potion for me. After taking the potion, the two of us talked late into the evening over a bottle of cognac (not my most intelligent choice, mixing potions with alcohol, but there you are). I must say that he is an eloquent speaker and quite a good listener as well. When the cognac mixed a little too heavily with the potion, I ended up passing out on his desk. Quite embarrassing, but Severus was kind enough to allow me to sleep off the effects on his couch. I have the feeling he watched over me throughout the night and morning, until his schedule called him away. He is by far the most pleasant conversationalist I’ve had the pleasure of spending time with, and I look forward to being able to speak with him more. From now on, I think I’ll bring a gift that is not alcoholic in nature though.

I’ve won an award! I’m absolutely thrilled to impart to my wonderful fans that I have won this year’s Witch Weekly Most-Charming Smile award. The issue will be on newsstands today, and I hope you all get a chance to pick up a copy. For those of you who are unable to procure the issue (since it is assured to sell out quickly), I’m providing a reprint of the shorter article located in the news section of WW.

Witch Weekly Article Reprint

“Due to an unforeseen accident, whose details are still sketchy at best, Professor Gilderoy Lockhart dropped out of sight and into St. Mungo’s Hospital for Magical Maladies. While we still have been unable to attain details concerning the events which led up to Professor Lockhart’s admission to the famous hospital, we are pleased to announce that he has been given a clean bill of mental and physical health. Professor Lockhart is currently residing in Hogsmeade, and according to his secretary he is working on another book. The Witch Weekly staff would like to send warm wishes to Professor Lockhart, and inform our readers that he has won this year’s Witch Weekly Most-Charming Smile award (see page 27 for the full story, complete with a gallery of photos). Congratulations Professor Lockhart, on both the award and your inspirational recovery.”

I will, of course, answer every comment received- barring unforeseen absences due to aforementioned adventures. I simply can’t wait to speak to each and every one of my fantastic fans! For those of you who have been keeping track of my health after that unfortunate accident, I’m in perfect condition now thanks to the fabulous staff at St. Mungo’s Hospital for Magical Maladies. Well, I simply must get back to writing my newest book (which should be available at finer bookstores by the middle of next year). Until then, farewell!
